Ludlites ♥ History
Photos inspired by history
Photographic exhibition for Head On 2016
Gallery and Exhibition Dates: TBA

The Ludlites are giving lo-fi photographers everywhere the chance to exhibit with them for their Ludlites ♥ History exhibition during the Head On Photo Festival in 2016.

What do I have to shoot?
Your images must be related to the theme of history, which can be loosely defined as the study of past events, particularly in human affairs, but it is up to you the artist to interpret this theme as creatively and interestingly as possible.

An essential requirement is that all images must be shot on film with a camera that uses a non-glass lens (this means plastic lens and pinhole cameras only.) Many of our members use Holgas and Dianas but they are many other cameras under the plastic camera umbrella that fit these requirements.

When are Entry dues? EXTENDED! to 30 NOVEMBER!

All submissions must be received by email no later than midnight – 30th November 2015.

What do I enter?
At least 2 images shot on film of your best work, taken with a plastic lens camera (or pinhole), plus a brief description of what inspired you to create the shot. We may select one of more of your images to include in the show.

How do I enter?
Email your images to with your name, contact details and website (if you have one). Images should be up to 1400 pixels on it’s longest edge or no bigger than 2MB, Adobe 1998 and 72dpi.

What is the Selection process:
The Ludlites curatorial committee will choose the selected images from all submissions. Successful entrants will be contacted by 30/11/2015 and their decisions are final.

What are my requirement for being involvement in the Show:
The Ludlites are a collective which means that everyone involved is expected to help make the show a success. Successful applicants will be required to contribute a financial share to the costs of the show as well as helping with hanging the show and participating in a gallery minding roster during the exhibition (which usually runs for 4 weeks). If you don’t live in Sydney this requirement can be waived.

The financial cost of the show is covered equally by all participants. Costs include gallery hire, PR and launch associated costs, printing and framing. We always strive to make our exhibitions as reasonable as possible. Applicants can expect to contribute approximately $200 to $300 depending on how many prints they have in the show although exact figures won’t be known until early 2016. The good news is that the more people we involve in the show the smaller the financial cost.

In return for your contributions you will have your work displayed in one of Head On’s consistently most interesting and engaging exhibitions and well as receiving camaraderie, opening event frolics and an opportunity to hang with other talented film freaks.
